Over the course of the fall, voting took place online for the Team of the Decade. Voting was open for one week at each position. The top player at each position, plus three outfielders and three pitchers were named to the team. Here are the final results:

BREAKDOWN BY POSITION:
Taylor Gahagen
broke in as a starter mid-way through his frehman year. As a freshman, he platooned at shortstop with Joe Kephart. As a sophomore, he won a New York Region Gold Glove after moving to first base. A career .310 hitter, he had 29 extra-base hits. He holds the school mark with 50 stolen bases and 24 swipes in a season.

Greco's had career .338 (98 for 290) average. In 2009, he was all-SUNYAC and all-region, with a .397 average, school record 14 doubles and his 56 single-season hits rank second all time. He also led the team with 34 RBI. He finished his career with 23 exta-base hits, 58 RBI, 55 runs and 16 stolen bases.

Don Kirsch (2007-2010) is tied for the highest career batting average in program history at .388. He earned a Rawlings New York Region Gold Glove as a sophomore and All-Region and All SUNYAC as a senior. In his three years as a starter, he hit. 347, .375 and .451. He finished with 21 doubles, 9 triples, 71 RBI and 19 stolen bases. His 140 career hits rank in the Top 5.

Joe Kephart played four seasons, batting .253 (84 for 332) with 19 extra-base hits, including 4 homeruns. He also drove in 52 runs and swiped 32 bases. "Joey Swipes" was the master of stealing third base. He also won a New York Region Gold Glove in 2010, making only 3 errors all season. He was the top vote-getter at any position at 70 percent.

Rob Herrmann was the only Blue Devil to earn all conference four times. His senior year saw him gun down a school-record 18 would-be base stealers. He nabbed 46 for his career. He never saw his average below .300, and twice hit over .390. He ranks in the top five for all time hits (152) and doubles (32).

Jordan Basile, a.k.a “Prime Time” possessed what was called the Sweetest Swing in the SUNYAC. He won the SUNYAC batting title as a senior (.420) and put up other seasons of .352, .345 and .372. He finished with records for hits in a season (63) and career (158). He accumulated 25 doubles, 5 triples and 33 stolen bases. He never homered.

Bryan Bongiovanni batted .324 in three seasons with the Devils' after transferring from Charleston. He played a stellar right field. He put up seasons of .405 and .343. He was part of a great defensive corner outfield tandem, along with Jeremy Borst,  that accounted for 15 assists in 2009.

 Other than Basile, the only outfielder for the Devils to be named All SUNYAC and All Region, took over for Basile in 2010 as the leadoff hitter after playing two seasons at Jamestown C.C. Batted.361 as a junior, and .344 as a senior. Career .347 hitter, had 17 doubles, 3 triples and 26 stolen bases in two seasons.

Ricky Carlson (2009) was an All Conference and All Region Pitcher as a senior. He went 7-1 with six complete games in a record 74.1 innings pitched. His 2.42 ERA is also a decade best. In three seasons, he was 10-7 and allowed a mere 24 walks in 148 innings (1.4 per game). He had a 3.58 ERA and three saves in 34 appearances (17 starts). He had one of the best pickoff moves ever. His 88 strikeouts tie Matt Bauman for the lefty record.

Andy Dlugosz (2011) walked away as the Blue Devils' all-time leader in wins (18-8), saves (6), strikeouts (118), innings (167.2) and appearances (54). He was dubbed “Everyday Andy” and was mainly used out of the bullpen. He finished what others could not, and piled up the wins. He did manage 10 starts for his career. He appeared in 12 or more games all four years, and never had an ERA over 4.05. As a sophomore, he was ranked 11th nationally for fewest walks per nine innings.

Jeremy Hulbert (2008) was an everyman for the Devils. He appeared in 46 games in four years, third all-time, going 4-9 over that span. He had 69 strikeouts in 120.2 innings pitched. He had a 5.91 ERA.
