FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State sophomore Sean Larson recently signed a deal to play for the Adirondack Trail Blazers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2012.

Larson, a right-handed pitcher, led the Devils in innings pitched (41.1) and strikeouts (31) as a freshman. He went 3-1 with a 3.48 ERA spanning 11 games and 5 starts. He becomes the fourth Blue Devil in the past eight years to play in the NYCBL. He joins Kyle Adams (Geneva Red Legs, 2005), Rob Herrmann (Allegany Nitros, 2008) and Alex Foster (Allegany Nitros, 2010).

Larson is joined on the Trail Blazers with former Blue Devil Matt Bauman, who will serve as the team's pitching coach. Bauman played four seasons for Fredonia State and spent two seasons in professional baseball. Bauman was also an All Star in two different collegiate leagues. He starred for the Orlando Hammers of the Florida Collegiate League and the Weyburn Beavers of the Western Major Baseball League in Canada. He is currently the pitching coach at Hilbert College.

Both Larson and Bauman played under coach Paul Bartel at St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, N.Y.
