FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State senior outfielder
Jon Messina was named to the ABCA/Rawlings New York All Region Team earlier this week.
Messina started all 35 games for the Blue Devils and was among the leaders in the State University of New York Athletic Conference in several categories.
His .344 batting average ranked eighth. He ranked second in doubles (10) and triples (3), third in slugging percentage (.472), fourth in runs (32), fifth in stolen bases (17) and eighth in walks (21).
Messina, a Jametown High School graduate, played two seasons at Jamestown Community College before finishing his career at Fredonia State. He became the fourth Blue Devil in the past three seasons named to the squad.
