FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Two Fredonia State basketball players are among the top 10 statistical leaders in NCAA Division III.
Women's sophomore guard
Becky Hebert (Hilton) and men's senior guard
Amir Billups (Buffalo) are among the nation's leaders in separate categoriers.
Hebert is tied for eighth in scoring at 21.2 points per game. She and Plattsburgh's Kathleen Payne have each tallied 275 points in 13 games. In addition to their No. 8 spot in the nation, they share the SUNYAC scoring lead.
The 275 points each has scored is 59th best in D-III.
Meanwhile, Billups is seventh in three-point fieldgoal percentage. He has connected on 39 of 82 attempts from beyond the arc, good for 47.6 percent -- best in the SUNYAC.
In addition, Billups averages 2.6 treys per game, 76th in NCAA D-III.
In other women's categories, senior point guard
Nicole Calbi is 15th nationally with 5.5 assists per game and 72nd in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.52. Sophomore forward
Jaimie Warren (Lakeview) has recorded five double-doubles, tied for 93rd in the country.
