FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's soccer and women's volleyball teams have become partners with the Special Olympics of Western New York.

Under the direction of head coaches P.J. Gondek and Geoff Braun, seven men and four women went bowling with Special Olympians at Lucky Lanes in Fredonia on Jan. 27.

A second bowling event was held Feb. 10.

The coaches and members of their teams attended workshops in advance of the bowling outings. NCAA Division III schools adopted the Special Olympics as its division-wide community service initiative in January 2011.
