Results
GENEVA, N.Y. – The Fredonia State men's track and field team broke one school record and had five athletes turn in ECAC Regional Meet qualifying standards at the SUNAYC Championships held at Hobart College on Sunday. The men finished sixth overall.
Broncho Rollins put up a school mark in the pole vault -- breaking his own record set a week ago -- and finished third, clearing 15'11 ¾ ''.
Cody Dahleiden cleared 14'11'' while finishing fifth. Both were ECAC qualifying heights.
Andrew Charsky was the team's top finisher, placing second in the triple jump. He turned in an ECAC qualifying distance and personal best of 14.25 meters.
Webster Thomas pointed in two events for the Devils. His 60 meter time of 7.07 seconds was fourth overall and an ECAC qualifier. He was sixth in the 200 meter dash at 22.88 seconds.
Nico Piacentini finished fourth in the 800-meter run finishing in a personal-best time of 1:56.08 while qualifying for the Regional Meet.
The Devils saw a pair of distance runners point in the 5,000 meter run as Peter Francia (15:21) and
Jack Bennett (15:27, personal best) finished third and sixth, respectively.
Other point earners were
Jonmichael Knapp in the 400 meter run finishing eighth in a time of 51.29. The 4 x 400 relay team of
Travis Moulton,
Jed Kovalovsky,
Jesse Mintz and Dahleiden finished seventh. The distance medley quartet of
Steve Whittemore, Knapp, Piacentini and
Cal Hayward finished sixth in a time of 10:47.
The ECAC meet is slated to begin next weekend.
