BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Three Fredonia State women set team records at the SUNYAC Swimming and Diving championships during preliminaries Thursday morning and afternoon at the Flickinger Center.

Emily Ginty (Chenango Forks) broke her own school mark in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:16.58, fifth best after preliminaries. Her previous school record was 5:18.47 set last season.

In addition, Ginty will have company in Thursday's night final. Lizzzie Lodinsky (Buffalo) is seeded sixth and Jennifer Smith (Pen Argyl, Pa.) is seeded eighth.

Like Ginty, Stephanie Andrasek (Parma, Ohio) broke a school record that she already owned. Andrasek touched out in 2:12.82 during Thursday's 200-yard individual medley relay. She is the sixth seed heading into the final.

Andrasek's previous record of 2:14.22 was set in 2009.

The third record of the morning went to Elizabeth Schake (Churchville) in the 50-yard freestyle. Schake touched out in 24.59 seconds to take down the previous record held by Juliana Walker -- 24.72 seconds in 2008.

In addition to the swimming events, the women's 1-meter springboard diving final is Thursday night. The Blue Devils will enter the event with the top six scores after preliminaries, which were held Wednesday.

Estanislau sets men's mark

A 23-year-old Fredonia State men's team mark was taken down during Thursday preliminaries. John Estanislau (East Longmeadow, Mass.) had the morning's fastest time in the 50-yard freestyle -- 21.19 seconds. Shawn Erb's 21.33 seconds had stood as the school record since 1989.
