Rollins claims pole vault title

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Senior Broncho Rollins entered the SUNYAC Championship meet as the No. 1 seed and did not disappoint, bringing home a conference championship in the pole vault clearing a height of 15'9'' in the first day of competition.

Rollins was joined on the stand by Cody Dahleiden (fifth, 14'9'') and Ben Nalette (seventh, 14'9'').

Two other Devils scored for the men on Friday. Max Radley was second in the hammer throw with a distance of 47.74 meters. Kyle Paganello finished sixth in the javelin with a throw of 44.25 meters.

Preliminaries took place in the track events. Webster Thomas qualified for tomorrow's finals in the 100 meter (11.01, third) and the 200 meter (22.17, third).

In the 400-meter run, Jonmichael Knapp qualifies with a time of 49.98, the seventh-best time of the day. Nico Piacentini was also seventh in the 400-meter hurdles in a qualifying time of 57.31

The meet continues tomorrow.
