INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Fredonia sophomore Christian Krasnek (Springville, N.Y./Griffith Institute) finished 22nd Friday during 1-meter springboard diving preliminaries at the NCAA Division 3 Swimming & Diving championship meet. He did not advance to either the final or consolation rounds.

Krasnek, making his first national meet appearance, had a total of 377.70 points for his 11 dives. That placed him 44.55 points out of the No. 16 spot, which would have earned him a spot in the consolation round and a chance to earn his second Honorable Mention All-America honor. He finished 16th Wednesday off the 3-meter springboard. It was his final competition of the 2017-18 season.

It was the 13th straight year Fredonia has sent at least one diver to nationals -- a total of 12 individuals, including Krasnek. All 12 have earned at least one All-America or Honorable Mention All-America award.

The national meet is being held through Saturday at the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.
