Runner of the Year- Stephen Hallberg, Fredonia
Hallberg has been voted the Runner of the Year after winning the SUNYAC men's cross country individual title this season. He was named to the first team All-Conference team with the victory. Hallberg was named the Rookie of the Year last season after a third place finish at the SUNYAC meet. In 2025 he was the top SUNYAC finisher at regionals crossing the line in 23rd place (25:56.4).

Rookie of the Year - Ricky Curiel, Buffalo State
In his first year running for the Bengals, Curiel placed third at the SUNYAC championship meet earning him a spot on the All-SUNYAC first team. He went on to finish 30th overall with a time of 26:07 at the Niagara Regional meet. Curiel is the first All-Region athlete for Buffalo State men's cross country since 2012.

Coaching Staff of the Year - Cortland
Steve Patrick is the head coach of the Cortland men's cross country team and he is assisted by Chad Dunham, Bob Vidulich and Marissa Formes-Patrick. In 2025, the staff guided their team to it's second-straight and 16th overall men's cross country team title. Three Red Dragons were recognized on the All-Conference teams after they finished the SUNYAC championship race in the top 15. He was recognized as an All Region runner for finishing in the Top 30. Hallberg's time was a PR of 25:56.4 on the 8k course.

The pace was set by Ryan Hagan of Geneseo with a time of 24:11.7. The team title went to Geneseo, while the Devils finished 15th out of 27 teams.

Edward Jourdan (82nd / 27:25.1) and Kevin Moser (91st / 27:27.5) also finished in the top 100 of the race.

The Blue Devil volleyball team and men's cross country team both earned two points with victories, while the women's soccer teams each got one point after tying. The Bengals took the points for women's cross country men's soccer.

Fredonia State is currently in possession of the traveling trophy, The Lake Erie Cup. They defeated Buffalo State, 17-11 last year. They lead the all-time series, 5-4-1 since its inception during the 2014-15 academic year.

Volleyball won 3-0, and men's cross country was in second place to Buff State's fourth place finish at the SUNYAC Championship Meet. The womens' soccer teams played to a 1-1 tie. Men's soccer fell 2-1 in a highly contested contest. Women's cross country finished the conference meet in 10th place, while Buff State slid in to ninth place.

For the women, Bronwyn Madden scored the only goal in a 1-0 double-overtime win over Oswego in the SUNYAC Tournament, as the Devils advance to the semifnals. Madden's 11 goals lead the conference.

Other Notables:
- Also at the Cross Country SUNYAC Championships, Kevin Moser was named Second Team All Conference with his ninth-place finish, and Lucas Peterson-Volz was named Third Team after finishing 13th.
- Volleyball clinched a playoff berth and had several standout performances over the weekend: 

	Kylie O'Brien (19 kills, 13 digs, two aces, one block)
	Maeve Musielak (26 digs, 14 kills) 
	Kailea Sullivan (33 digs)

- Casey Fetzner was perfect into double overtime as the Blue Devils came away with a 1-0 SUNYAC First Round win over Oswego. The freshman goaltender made 10 saves for the shutout. She was also named the SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week.
- Ryan Ameis led a Fredoinia State defense that did not allow a goal in a road post-season game at Plattsburgh, as the Blue Devils came away with a 1-0 victory on Saturday. For good measure, Ameis moved upfield on a Fredonia State corner kick, and his header accounted for the only goal of the games as the Devils advance to the Semi Final Round on Wednesday. He was named the SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week.
- Matthieu Fournier scored a pair of goals in a 4-3 loss to Potsdam on Saturday. His first goal came late in the second period to cut the Potsdam lead to 2-1. He scored early in the third period to make it a 2-2 game. His scores came just under four minutes apart.

Hallberg finished in 26:06.8 and improved upon his third-place finish as a freshman last year.

Moser was ninth in 26:48.1, and Peterson-Volz was 13th in 27:03.1

The trio helped the Devils to a second place finish, just seven points behind Cortland (60-67).

As a team, the Devils took second place, just seven points behind Cortland (60-67). Kevin Moser finished ninth and Lucas Peterson-Volz was 13th for the Devils.

Hallberg became the first Blue Devil to win the men's cross country title since Vinnie Derocco did it in 2000. Last year, Hallberg finished third overall.

The Devils also finished ahead of fourth-place Buffalo State, thus winning points toward the Battle by the Lake.

The women will start at 11 a.m. and the men's race will go off at Noon at the Rugar Woods Course.

Last season, the men finished third out of 10 teams. Stephen Hallberg led the Devils with a third-place finish and was recognized as a First Team All SUNYAC selection and SUNYAC Hall of Fame Inductee (needs to finish in the Top 5 during one championship, finish in the Top 10 in two championships, or finish in the Top 15 in three championships). 

Kevin Moser and Edward Jourdan have consistently been among the top Fredonia State finishers for the men this year.
 
The women's team finished sixth overall in 2024. Juliana Rodriguez and Amilcar Centeno are the only two returning runners. The team is also made up of a trio of freshmen -- Emily Frank, Siera Shenoy, and Erin Smith.

Shenoy was the top Blue Devil finisher in the team's most recent meet at Rowan, crossing in 25:49.

In addition to Fredonia State, other competing teams will include Buffalo State, Canton, Cobleskill, Cortland, Delhi, Plattsburgh, Morrisville, New Paltz, Oneonta, Oswego, and Potsdam. At last year's championship, which was hosted by Oswego at the Fallbrook Recreation Center, Cortland won both the men's and women's titles.

For the men, Hallberg led the Fredonia State cross country team with a PR in a time of 26:13.1 at the Rowan Border Battle Invitational on Saturday. That put him in 78th place out of 327 runners. The team average of 27:11 was the fastest of the year for the squad. It was the final prep for the SUNYAC Meet on Nov. 1.

The women's volleyball team picked up a pair of clutch 3-0 sweeps over Canton and Oswego. Sullivan had 25 digs and five assists in six sets in addition to all-around solid play.

- Bria Hunter had 16 kills, 11 digs, and four blocks.
- Maeve Musielak was named SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week had 15 digs and five kills. She had a nearly identical game against Oswego, with 16 digs and five kills. 
- Chance LaCroix had a goal and an assist for the men's soccer team as they went 1-1 for the week.

The sophomore finished in 26:13.1 at the Rowan Border Battle Invitational on Saturday. That put him in 78th place.

A total of 327 runners participated on one of the largest races of the year. Micah Lachman of Haverford led the way in a time of 25:28.8. Carnegie Mellon was the top team, with all five runners finishing among the top 26 racers.

The Devils finished 25th out of 35 teams.
